Hanna Instruments Portable Turbidity Meter Kit
This microprocessor-based meter provides reliable, accurate turbidity measurements in the field or laboratory. The meter covers a 0 to 1,000 FTU range in two scales, and the auto-ranging feature sets the appropriate range for the measurement. Measurements are taken as a beam of infrared light passes through the vial containing the sample. This High Emission Infrared LED has a wavelength peaking at 890 nm to ensure that interference caused by colored samples is kept to a minimum. A sensor detects the amount of light scattered by undissolved particles present in the sample, and the microprocessor converts the reading into an FTU value (1 FTU = 1 NTU). All meter operations can be done using only four keys located on the water-resistant keypad. The meter is supplied with calibration solutions, two cuvettes, a cuvette cleaning solution, a cuvette cleaning cloth, four 1.5V AA batteries, a rugged carrying case, and instructions.
Range: 0.00 to 50.00 FTU, 50 to 1,000 FTU (1 FTU = 1 NTU). Resolution: 0.01 and 1 FTU. Accuracy: ±0.5 FTU or ±5% of reading (whichever is greater). Typical EMC Deviation: ±2% FS. Calibration: 3 point (0, 10, and 500 FTU). Light Source: Infrared LED. Light Source Life: Life of the instrument. Light Detector: Silicon Photocell.
